       ALL THE NEWS

  SCOOP on the STOOP

Picture

We focus on being an informational site for our neighborhood and use our communication methods to be a guide to city services, local issues and keeping connected in our community.

We do not promote businesses as a rule. However, occasionally we hear about a promotion or news about a resident or nearby business that we think might be of interest to our community.

If you have something of interest to promote, email us and if appropriate, we'll highlight it here!

Yvette Jarreau, from the Friends of the South End Library has asked us to help push this long-awaited project past the finish line.
The neighborhood library building is designed and was budgeted for this fiscal year 2025/26— but the money has not yet been released, and a contractor has not been secured. Please add your voice in asking that this long-awaited project doesn’t face further delays. The community been without a library for close to 5 years.

A larger, modern South End library is much more than books. It means:
• A safe, welcoming space for children and families of our diverse neighborhood
• Access to technology, job resources, and critical information for immigrants
• Support for students, seniors, and lifelong learners
• A community space for all of us.
A short email can make a difference.
Please contact the Mayor’s Office at [email protected];
Ask her to:
• Release the South End Library project funds this fiscal year

• Ensure that a contractor is selected and work begins on the new building this fiscal year
• Keep the community informed on progress

Feel free to copy your City Councilors on your message.  Here are their names, districts, and email addresses.

The Corridor Section 1 of The Southwest Corridor Park
Check out the newly redesigned website  (by one of our very own residents - John Biske!) for the Corridor - the section nearest to our neighborhood of the Southwest Corridor.  A beautiful website for a beautiful space. A particularly fascinating addition to the website is a look back on the history of the corridor - check it out here. Congrats John,  a beautiful and interesting website!
