SBNA Meeting Minutes – March 13, 2013 7.00pm – Susan Bailis Center
Over 40 neighbors from St. Botolph and Claremont Park Neighborhood Associations and Friends of Titus Sparrow Park met with Boston Police Department's District 4 Capt. Paul Ivens and Community Liaison Officer Sgt. Geno Provenzano at the Susan Bailis Center. The area covered by District 4 includes the South End, Back Bay (including St. Botolph area), The Fenway, and Lower Roxbury.
The overriding message of the evening was as neighbors, we are the eyes, ears, and voice of our neighborhoods. Captain Paul Ivens and Sgt Geno Provenzano thanked residents for their continued vigilance and participation in making our neighborhoods a better place to live. They urged anyone with even a suspicion of something criminal to dial 911 and talk to the police.

10.15.2010 neighborhood Meeting Minutes

Neighborhood Meeting Minutes – September 15, 2010, 7:00 p.m. – Susan Bailis Center
SBNA hosted a follow up meeting on Wednesday 15th September with officials from Boston Water & Sewer in regards to the original flooding, which occurred on July 10th.  Since our meeting on July 29th, there were two more incidents of flooding on August 5th and 25th.  Given three such '100 year' events in such proximity, residents were skeptical of the explanation that this was a freak occurrence. However, again, evidence provided by BW&S indicates that the entire sewer system was overwhelmed in the sudden downfall that brought up to 2" of rain in 35 minutes on the 10th and 1" in 15 minutes on the 5th. (The 25th is still being researched.) Why the city is suddenly experiencing such record breaking rains in such a brief window is not clear.  It is also not confirmed that the existing system is operating correctly and free of blockages or other defects which requires further analysis and review by the operational department of BW&S.

Neighborhood Meeting Minutes – March 18, 2009, 7:15 p.m. – Susan Bailis Center
President Dan Munson opened the meeting by introducing Community Relations Officer,
Sargent Kevin Powers, from District 4, Boston Police Department.
Sargent Powers explained the role of his Community Service Office: to follow-up prolonged situations, monitor quality of life,  record gang violence patterns, help residents to navigate the system.  He reports that crime prevention in the city has been going “fairly well,” though it is hard to say what will happen in the warmer weather, further into the recession and unemployment.  At times like this, there can be an increase in drug related activities, too.

Neighborhood Meeting Minutes – January 28, 2009, 7:15 p.m. – Susan Bailis Center
About 16 people attended this snowy, wintery, wet-weather evening meeting, despite winter storm warnings,  A second e-blast was sent just before the meeting to alert people that the meeting was still on.  The meeting was held in the general lounge area, not the meeting room, so that chairs had to be set up as people arrived.  The meeting room is no longer available, only the lounge.President Dan Munson introduced the Guest Speaker, Emily Wolf, Preservation Planner and representative from the Landmarks District Commission,
