 President

Picture
Joan Carragher – Joan and her husband Mike have been residents since 2016 – first on West Newton St and currently on Cumberland St since 2021. Leading the board as president since 2018, she has enjoyed working with her fellow board members to foster community and advocate for the best neighborhood in Boston! She credits her past experiences in marketing, advertising, small business ownership and wine sales as giving her a well-rounded perspective for neighborhood advocacy. She continues to represent the SBNA to city representatives, state electeds and our fellow neighborhood association leaders and along with her fellow board members attempts to help residents find solutions to issues. It’s all about community, and striving to turn neighbors into friends and allies.

 Vice President

Picture
Janie Wallace– If living in Back Bay for over ten years doesn’t make you a proper Bostonian, living on Saint Botolph Street makes you part of an amazing organization. Janie has been a part of the Saint Botolph Neighborhood Association for several years and she says it has proven to be the best way to meet new people and get involved. Since joining the board, she has used her
background in marketing - especially event planning and incentive travel – to help with SBNA summer barbeque and assist in the planning of the winter party. Janie has a lot more ideas for  upcoming events that will hopefully engage neighbors in new and different activities.

Treasurer

Picture
Betsy Homa Betsy and Dave moved to the neighborhood in January 2025 and were very happy to discover this wonderful community of neighbors helping each other in so many different ways. As a new resident Betsy appreciated the wide variety of events and activities organized by the SBNA that so quickly made her feel connected and welcome. She is happy to have the opportunity to contribute to the SBNA as treasurer and support this great neighborhood organization.

Clerk

Picture
Lee Steele– Lee Steele is honored and delighted to be nominated as the SBNA’s Clerk/Secretary for the 2026 - 28 period.  Lee is a 45+ yr resident on Durham Street and has been actively involved in neighborhood activities for many years.  He has served as the SBNA’s long-standing Architecture Review Committee chair, participates regularly in the neighborhood spring cleanup and summer BBQ events, and is an avid preservationist and historian of the St. Botolph neighborhood's legacy.

Board of Directors
Picture
Claire Dargan - A resident since 2000, Claire continues to delight in meeting new neighbors and being inspired by the civic spirit of her fellow board members. She welcomes the opportunity to continue to support them in fostering a community of engaged neighbors while protecting this unique place we call home.

Picture
Shruti Manglik - After more than 25 years in the suburbs, Shruti & her husband, Andy made the leap to city living — and Saint Botolph has completely won them over. The rich history, the beautiful Southwest corridor, and the incredible place that long-time residents have built here are something truly special, and they feel lucky to be part of it.
Shruti is running for the SBNA Board because she wants to contribute to the community that has given so much. As a relative newcomer, she brings fresh eyes and genuine enthusiasm, but also has deep respect for the work and dedication of the neighbors who have shaped this neighborhood for decades. Her goal is to build on that foundation, not reinvent it.

If elected, she will focus on what she believes matters most: bringing neighbors together, keeping our streets and shared spaces clean and welcoming, and making sure St. Botolph continues to do its part as a proud member of the greater Boston community. She believes civic engagement starts right outside our front doors, and is ready to roll up her sleeves

Picture
Adel Labib  A resident of twenty four years joined the board six years ago committed to improving safety on our neighborhood streets and has succeeded in addressing several ongoing issues . He is active on the trash committee and the annual clean up events.
